I have a Ph.D. from the Cinema Studies Department, Stockholm University, on a project performed at the Centre for User Oriented IT Design (CID) at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. My dissertation, defended in December 2001 and entitled "Patterns of Recollection – the documentary meets digital media", examines factual moving digital images from the perspective of genre interplay. (Opponent was Sephen Mamber, UCLA.) The study builds on the concept of design patterns, an approach applied from the fields of Architecture, Computer Science, and Organizational design.
